Mission Statement
The mission of the California Black Health Network is to improve the health status of people of African descent in California by influencing policies and programs that advance health promotion and disease prevention.
Objectives
To provide a structure and a forum through which Black health care workers, and others interested in raising the health status of Blacks and other ethnic groups, can exchange views, develop strategies and implement change.
To provide support to local (regional, county or city) Black health groups, through joint planning, program development and technical assistance.
To promote and increase Black and minority participation in policy making at the highest levels within the health industry and public sector.
To promote Black and minority participation in education which will increase the number of Blacks in the health care provider industry.
To promote resource development and viable Black and minority entrepreneurship in the health field.
To conduct studies and research concerning health services among Black and other ethnic populations.
To cooperate with community groups, agencies, civic and community leaders and public officials having special expertise on health care issues, to conduct, sponsor and co-sponsor educational seminars, conferences, and public forums on issues relating to Black and minority health.
Vision
The vision of the California Black Health Network is that all people in California achieve optimum health status.
